FURTHER UPDATE on the Isle of Wight

Detecting leaks

We’re pleased to report that we’re no longer in a critical situation on the Isle of Wight.

Crews have been working for 36 hours to find and fix leaks across the Island, following a number of bursts on pipes caused by the thaw after recent freezing weather.

Although the situation is no longer critical, we’ll continue to remain in close contact with members of the Local Resilience Forum, which includes representatives of the Isle of Wight Council, fire brigade and police amongst others until we’re satisfied things have returned to normal.

We’re also still urging all customers to check your private supplies for leaks and report them through our 24 hour leak line: 0330 303 0146.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our partners for their support and assistance over the weekend, and we’d also like to thank our customers on the Island for spotting and reporting leaks.
